Kind of researcher I want to be

I aim to be a researcher who can generate new insights through flexible thinking and multifaceted information gathering, contributing to society across national borders.

Introduction to your research theme

My research focuses on Japan’s postwar diplomacy in Asia, particularly its relations with Taiwan. By examining not only intergovernmental diplomacy but also unofficial diplomatic activities conducted by politicians and non-governmental actors, I seek to move beyond the traditional state-to-state framework and explore a broader, network-based perspective on diplomacy. This approach aims to shed light on the full picture of Japan’s diplomatic engagement in Asia.

Tentative title for your upcoming working paper
