Program Title: Waseda University Reconciliation Studies Summer Program 2025
Theme: Reconciliation towards Sustainable Peace

Location: Arlington, Virginia (Carter School, George Mason University) and various sites in Washington D.C.

■ September 16 (Tue)

  • Arrival in Washington D.C. (IAD) from Tokyo Haneda (ANA NH102)
  • 18:00 Welcome Dinner in Arlington

■ September 17 (Wed): Carter School – Waseda Seminar (Day 1)

  • Lectures and workshops on reconciliation studies, ethnonational conflict, book project planning

■ September 18 (Thu): Carter School – Waseda Seminar (Day 2)

  • Topics: Peace Education, International Education, Gender & Ethnicity
  • Afternoon: Visit to U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP)

■ September 19 (Fri)

  • Morning: Visit to Embassy of Japan
  • Afternoon: Roundtable & Networking at the Wilson Center

■ September 20 (Sat)

  • Visit to National Museum of African American History and Culture (self-guided)

■ September 21 (Sun)

  • Visit to either Holocaust Memorial Museum or Asian Pacific American Center exhibitions (self-guided)

■ September 22 (Mon): Carter School Peace Week

  • Young researchers’ presentations (panel format)
  • Closing remarks (Prof. Asano and Prof. Korostelina)
